SHANE DRAKE

Director

(Under Consideration)

Shane's pursuit of a career in cinema began in the most unlikely of places. It was during his stint at Westmont College, where he was studying pre-med of all things, that Shane began to realize his love for the arts. He first pursued a career in acting, which led him to New York City. Shane participated in many stage performances as well as landing feature roles in a number of independent films. While in New York, Shane realized the scope of his cinematic interests were broader than he had originally anticipated. Armed with a low-grade VHS-C camcorder, Shane began shooting his own short films.

After moving back to Los Angeles, Shane's short films eventually caught the eye of a few key players in the entertainment business. It is through these contacts that the door was opened for music videos. After a couple years of sharpening his skills as an editor and cinematographer, Shane started Red Van Pictures, an independent music video production company. Since then, Shane has spent time pursuing his craft as a director. He has directed numerous music videos over the past 5 years for bands such as Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and is most well know for his videos for Panic! At the Disco. This last year Shane received MTV’s highest honor of "VIDEO OF THE YEAR" for Panic! At The Disco's "I Write Sins Not Tragedies".

Constantly striving to expand his abilities, Shane has crossed into multiple genres,, including Rock, Pop, and most recently Hip Hop with his new video for Timbaland,s "The Way I Are" which has recently been nominated for the 2007 VMA,s in the category of Monster Single of The Year. Shane is currently rep'd by Tommy Labuda of Labuda Management and is an official member of the director's roster at Merge @ Crossroads.
